Being from NYC I seen all these types of different styles from all kinds of people. In today’s society fashion became a big thing to most people such as celebrities, athletes, rappers, etc. When you think of fashion you think of designer brands and runway models. Well to me fashion is not all about who is dressed up in the best designer clothes. Most people are not fortunate to have all those nice expensive brands.
I always looked up to my older brother who is 7 years older than me, he always been a cool person to be around and tried to be the best role model to me. Even though me and him took opposite paths in life I still always looked up to him because he always done a lot for me. One day my brother had came down to NC to visit us from NY when i was in the 9th grade, and he brought me a suitcase of his clothes he doesn’t want anymore. I opened the suitcase he had all these different type of designer clothes in there and he looked at me and told me and said “My son about to be flee.” The whole week while he was there he helped me put my outfits together for school. I remember going to school everyday of that whole week and people asking me where I get all these True Religion from and I got mad compliments on my outfit. Ever since then I just took off with it and developed my own unique styles.
The word “Drip” I got from 2 of my favorite rappers from Atlanta, Young Thug and Gunna who use that word frequently in songs referring to their fashion.
I went through a faze where I wore all these designer brands my brother used too hook me up with every time I go visit NY or when he come down here. One day I was in a conversation with a group of people and a girl had mentioned just because somebody has designer clothes that doesn’t mean you know how to dress it’s how you put things together. Ever since that day I just started shopping in local stores where everybody else shop at and just put my clothes together different. Ever since then I won best dressed my senior year of high school and have multiple people give compliments on the way I dress.
